Separate identity and permission
Sign-in establishes who is acting; authorization determines permitted actions. Access decisions should reflect role, ownership and context rather than editable profile claims.
Reduce credential risk
Use unique credentials and MFA where supported. Phishing-resistant methods can reduce certain attacks, but recovery procedures, session protection and user awareness remain important.
Review the lifecycle
Grant access when needed, revisit changes in responsibility and remove unnecessary access promptly. Include service identities and emergency recovery accounts in the inventory.
